Primary Care: approximately USD 1,504.80 per week for eight weeks in Cape Town. Re-entry: approximately USD 1,128.60 per week for four weeks near Harare. Full 12-week programme: approximately USD 16,552.80, all-inclusive with no additional programme costs.

All-inclusive means exactly that: there are no additional programme costs. Accommodation, meals, medical detox, therapy, psychiatric care, the family programme, services, outings and aftercare are covered by the fee for each phase. Treatment is self-funded. We do not take a deposit before an assessment has taken place, and we will tell you honestly if we believe a shorter or different form of care would serve the person better.

    What the fee covers

The weekly fee covers accommodation in a small residence, all meals, nursing care around the clock, medically supervised detox where it is clinically indicated, psychiatric assessment and review, daily individual psychotherapy, group and trauma therapy, the family programme and twelve months of aftercare and alumni support after discharge.

It also covers services and outings: the day trips, nature walks and supervised time out of the house that are part of rebuilding a normal routine, as well as the laundry service during the stay. Many clinics bill these separately; we do not. There are no additional costs for anything in the programme.

The only things a family arranges itself are the flights to Cape Town and personal travel. Everything from airport collection onwards is part of the one all-inclusive price.

Why twelve weeks is the recommendation

The first weeks make a person safe, clear and hopeful. Twelve weeks is where the underlying work is done and the new routine is lived long enough to survive contact with ordinary life again.

Primary Care: approximately USD 1,504.80 per week for eight weeks in Cape Town. Re-entry: approximately USD 1,128.60 per week for four weeks near Harare. Full 12-week programme: approximately USD 16,552.80, all-inclusive with no additional programme costs.

The first eight weeks are Primary Care at The Hillhouse in Cape Town. The final four weeks are the re-entry phase at The Re-entry House near Harare. Each phase has its own weekly fee; the total is the sum of both phases, not a promotional discount.

    Exchange rates and payment

USD prices calculated at the current daily exchange rate (2026-11-03): 1 USD = 16.6135 ZAR. USD prices move with the exchange rate; admissions confirms your quote. Source: ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com).

USD fees are converted from fixed rand-based programme costs using a daily reference rate, so the displayed USD estimates can change. We confirm your payable USD quote with you before admission.

Payment is made by the client or their family, in USD, before or on admission. Where a family needs to split the payment across the treatment period, we discuss that privately and agree the arrangement in writing beforehand.

We prefer to have the financial conversation by phone, once we understand the clinical situation, so the plan reflects both what the person needs and what the family can realistically sustain.
